This weekend was both Summerfest here in Ankeny and Felix Grundy Days in Grundy Center. Saturday morning, I got up early and headed out for the Summerfest parade here in Ankeny. The plan was to meet up with Steve and Hanah Inman and their kids. After walking around for about 20 minutes, I finally found them and settled in to watch the 2+ hour parade. I really enjoyed it and it was great to be able to watch it with little kids. When it finished, I walked back to my car (at least 25 minutes because of all the people) then went to Adam's and ate lunch. About an hour later, I went and got Rebecca and we went to Grundy to watch the Felix Parade. It only lasted about 45 mins and was quite the opposite of the Summerfest one. While the Ankeny parade was filled with several cute floats, the Grundy parade was filled with fire trucks, tractors and class reunion floats. After the parade in Grundy, my siblings and I decided to go to Wolf Creek park and take random pictures and just have fun. Ill post some of the crazy pictures later (although, the one camera was dying and the other camera wasn't as good quality, so we didn't really get any good pictures.)
