Thankful Thursday

There are about three different family blogspots that I have under my "favorites" and try to keep tabs on. One thing I especially enjoy reading is their posts entitled "Thankful Thursday" and I am determined to one day start doing this myself. The idea is to take a moment ecah week and just think of all the things you are thankful for, not only just to write them down, but to plant them in your memory and truely be thankful for them. So, just to get things started, for this week Im just going to post the first few things that popped into my head as I read some of the other gal's comments.

1. God's all-sufficent Word
We had a challenge today about that from Dr. Newman during Bible conference and I realized just how much I claim to love the Word and say I use it as a guidebook for my life, yet don't really act like I truely believe that His Word is sufficient for EVERYTHING in life. So that leads to #2

2. This college (Faith Baptist Bible College)
Since I grew up hearing about Faith, I often take for granted how amazing this college really is. The focus is to train up young poeple like myself and all my friends here to Learn God's Word, Live godly lives demonstrating our love for God and His Word and finally to Lead others in and out of the church. (That was the first chapel message this school year and I loved it!)

3. Friends-both here at Faith and back home who keep me accountable, encourage me in my daily walk, help me to keep things in their proper perspectives, and friends who I can laugh and cry with.

4. I am also thankful for my job even with as much as I don't really want to go to work today (or tomorrow =>) I have learned so many things and been able to put them into practice at my job, in a secular environment where I am impacting others and setting their view of what a Christian is. Huge! Something I couldn't do without my God.

5.Last thing for today. I am thankful for Adam. Dating him for 9ish months has been fun. I have learned so much about myself, God, and others through him and half of it Im sure he doesn't even realize. Many things have been "filed away" in my mind, memory chucked together in the proper ways so that I will be bringing it all out again over and over-never forgetting the things I have learned. He has been a godly leader in the relationship, giving proper placement of school, God, work, me etc (NOT in that order.)

Hopefully I will be able to keep this up week by week. I know Bible Conference was amazing today and I should have added under being thankful for this college that I am also thankful for the Professors here - Dr. Cole, Dr. Newman, Dr. Stupka, Mr. Lounsbrough, all the Dr. Hartogs, Mr. DeCleene etc....

Have a great day all and go out rejoicing and counting God's blessings!!!!
