Day 18

11-18-10 I am thankful for the common bond that we as students have in Christ. So much fun to hang out with a random group.

I am thankful for friends who love to sing and who will put up with me singing with them! Thanks Josh and Dana! Totally enjoyed tonight.

I am thankful that God hasn't given up on me. He is still teaching me. Teaching me alot about friends. So often I find myself feeling lonely and sad because life isn't like it was last year or the year before. This morning I was reading Proverbs 18 and the very first verse and last verse really caught my attention. Verse 1 talks about a person who separates or isolates himself and seeks after his own desires. After reading that, I was like, "yah, Ive done that lots. Ive hidden in my room throwing a pity party because I can't have things my way." The last verse is a pretty well known one, "A man who has friends must himself be friendly and there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." Wow. That was a challenge to me and what type of friend I am being. Do I think I am better than others (like we talked about in chapel today) and only talk minimally with most people and seek after a small group of friends? Am I trying to be a Younkers bag in a world of what I veiw as Dollar Tree bags forgetting the fact that we are all just bags?! (2 Corinthians 4:7).

I am thankful that I have had like no homework this week. (Although, it will soon catch up with me!)

I am thankful for reminders to depend on God's strength and not try to do things on my own strength. That is probably the hardest thing for me when life is going half-way decent. I just do things on my own and then, before I know it, something gives (and that's never good!)and I fall flat on my face. Only to go through that same cycle over and over again.

I am thankful for my sister, best friend and roomie. I am thankful that we have such a good relationship that we can always share with each other no matter what. And that we know each other well enough to know when something is wrong etc. I am also thankful that we have finally reached the point where we feel "in touch" with each other again! Its so good to "be back" lol

I am thankful for my RAs. They have doen an amazing job leading us this semester and we have done some really fun things as a dorm.

I am thankful for ministry and the open doors God is giving.
