Day 5 (fell asleep at 10 and forgot to post =< )

11-5-10 - I am thankful for an amazing week of Bible Conference. The last session was really good and the challenge was to surrender your life to Chirst. This semester (and past summer) has been all about surrendering my life. Instead of just saying, "yah, I surrender, God" Ive been working on surrendering each and every area of my life to Him. Started out with college plans, then friends as a whole, then family, then specific friendships, then plans again, then a job, then..... The most recent was surrendering my desire to be in full-time ministry after I graduate (a second time-if i even make it that far). God has a perfect plan for my life. One that is for my ultimate good - yet another reason to be thankful!

I am thankful for my suitmates. Our time together in suit devos is very challenging to me and my mind is constantly being challenged to put to practice what I have been learning.

I am thankful for a healthy body. I was able to give blood again today for the 4th time. Giving blood is something that is fairly easy to do for most people, yet the percentage of people who actually take the time to give is very small.

I am thankful for a God who has all things in His control. Tonight could very much so be a disaster - especially since Dana isn't feeling very well and her date wasn't either the other night. There are a few 'bugs' flying around this campus and it has finally reached the girls dorm. sigh. But God is in control and I do not have to worry about anything!

I am thankful for computers and cell phones. I am in the process of writing a term paper and it is so much easier on computer than it would be to write it all by hand or on a typewriter! I am seriously adicted to my phone. It is my means of communication with my family - even my family that is here in the DSM area! How sad is that!

(I know this is supposed to be a post about thankfulness from yesterday......but...this one is on my mind)
I am thankful that I woke up bright and early at 7 this morning to work on some stuff before Mom gets here for the bridal shower. Actually, I don't think I even had my alarm clock set..hmm...

and now for another day to serve my Risen Saviour
