Next, you have to put the crust in the pie plate and then make the edge all nice and pretty. I still have not gotten it down quite as well as mom does, but Im getting there.

After the crust is ready to go, I turn on the oven and then mix up the filling. This one was super easy and is Peacan Pie.

Then you fill up the pie plate and let it bake for like an 30-50 mins depending on the type of pie. (the one I am filling is actually pumpkin)

And all that hard work pays off with some very delicious pies!!

For the first time, I was able to help get the bird ready to cook. That was quite an experience. Dad did most of the work, as usual, but I jumped in and "got my hands dirty" whenever he needed help.

This is what we stuffed it with. Celery, Onion, and an orange.

Dad told me to lift it up so he could tie the legs together...that was a bit more difficult that I imagined it to be!

The next morning: I was actually allowed to sleep in (more like I wouldn't get up) until 9:15! It was amazing! Once everyone was there, this is what our shoe pile looked like. It was way fun to have a full house. Becca and her hubby, Jr, came. My cousin Patty and her hubby, Steve and their 6 kids, my Grandpa, and Rosanna and Isaiah. It was a very fun time.

With 17 people in our house, we had to sit at two different tables. It was pretty busy and I didn't even think to take picutres until way later when we were eating pie. Pretty sure not everyone got in the pictures though.

I got the most pictures somehow of Becca. I guess its just because she is cute and I can't wait to meet my new lil nephew!!

I had lots of homework to get done while I was at home (and yes, I actually did get a bit accomplished) and Princess thought she needed to help me. I think she has missed us all being gone.

Of course, I couldn't just let her sleep the whole time while I did homework. Needless to say, Im pretty sure I got more sleep this weekend than I normally get in a full week. :)

The next day, Jon and I decided to do a bit of Black Fiday "shopping." We had such a blast, but those stories are better told in person. I haven't been in Waterloo forever so we sorta got a bit mixed up trying to find Menards and ended up at Black Hawk Park. It was really pretty with the Cedar River partially frozen.

Once we found Menards.... The checkout line was really really long, but it really wasn't that bad. It took us 23 mins from start to walking out the door and we had a blast!

For lunch at home we had...leftovers. You can't really tell the massive amounts of food that is sitting on that table, but there was lots!!

Friday night was Festival of Lights in Grundy. Jon and I went to look around and it was fun, yet at the same time, it was very very pathetic after just being at the same type of event in DesMoines. The highlights of the evening were the ice carver, trolly rides, and free cookies and hot chocolate.

I headed back to Ankeny Satuday night and this is what I saw as I walked out the door to load up my car. Totally describes my weekend. God is so good and that doesn't even do Him justice.

I hope that you all had a great weekend and dont forget to continue to thank God for all the wonderful things He does!!
