This is what I mentioned quickly in my post last night/this morning. This is not exactly the same as what was read in church last night, but it basically the same.
John 3:16
FOR -- The Greatest Reason
GOD -- The Greatest Lover
SO LOVED -- The Greatest Degree
THE WORLD -- The Greatest Company
THAT HE GAVE -- The Greatest Act
HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON -- The Greatest Gift
THAT WHOSOEVER -- The Greatest Opportunity
BELIEVETH -- The Greatest Simplicity
IN HIM -- The Greatest Attraction
SHOULD NOT PERISH -- The Greatest Promise/The Greatest Salvation
BUT -- The Greatest Difference
HAVE -- The Greatest Certainty
EVERLASTING LIFE. -- The Greatest Possesion
Too often I will skim over that verse in my Bible or quote it without really thinking about what I am saying anymore, which is very sad. Just thinking deeper about the words makes it mean so much more to me! This morning for my devotions I was reading through Romans 5 and verse 8 is one that I memorized a very long time ago and, much like John 3:16, I am quick to read right on past it. However, this morning verse 7 hit me. I don't know that I have ever really realized that verese was even there! Wow.
Romans 5:7-8 (New Century Version)
7 Very few people will die to save the life of someone else. Although perhaps for a good person someone might possibly die.8 But God shows his great love for us in this way: Christ died for us while we were still sinners.
Wow. He did that for me?!
