Spring Break Is Here!!

Im done!!! I have no more pressing papers to write, devotionals to prepare, tests to study for, quizes to take, or reading that HAS to be done! (Of course, I am already doing homework for the week after break...) My roomie and I went to bed a lil after 10 last night...course..that resulted in me waking up at 1 and being really disoritented lol. Then Dana got up at 4 this morning so she could head home. I got up and said goodbye to her and went back to bed for a few more hours. After doing my devotions this morning, I packed up my stuff and moved to an apartment for the week. It was like 8:00 by this time and I was already lonely. => Ive spent the morning listening to pandora, reading ahead on crisis counseling and texting my brother and talking to Dana on the phone. I figured I would try to get caught up on my blogging...but by now, everything is old news. =<

Lets start with our girls night out. Feb 18-19, Tanya, Brit, Alisha and I rented a hotel room at the Marriott in Clive.

(I have no idea, but the carpets in the halls fascinated me)

We had blast catching up and just hanging out and talking and swimming and stuff. We realized that we have all grown up a bit and our "party night" wasn't nearly as wild and crazy as we thought it would be. Funny how that works. We were so excited to stay up late and talk and laugh and...well, we crashed at like 11 and then slept in til like 8. It was lovely. We had to check out of the hotel at noon so we quickly did each others hair and make-up

then went to Olive Garden for lunch. (That was a blast in itslef! The host and hostess were hilarious and we got to spend our entire 35 minute wait watching them. Adding to the whole experience was our waiter.....)

(the food was super yummy!!)

After Olive Garden, we headed to the mall. Brit is the only one who bought anything, but we all had a great time teasing her about it and just looking around. We walked past one store and there was a little girl standing in the display window pretending to be one of the doll thingys. So cute. The girls told me to take her picture so I did. Pretty sure it made her day..and mine =>

We finished our shopping and went outside to take some pictures together before we all went separate ways again. It was so much fun. I miss those girls.

School work just got busier and busier from that point and I didn't have much time to keep up with anything besides school. Work continues to be a blast. We have had some really nice days...I mean how often is it that you can be outside playing for 2 hours in shorts in the middle of February?!

Rebecca needed a sitter for Ty one afternoon so Jr came and dropped him off with me and I took him to work and everything. Dylan absolutly loved "Ty-Ty" and is begging me to bring him back. (Of course, he also begs me to bring Dana all the time, as well as my boyfriend, which I do not have lol) I seriously love those kids. Ty is getting big...and a bit chubby..but he is still so cute! I don't get to see him as much anymore, but hopefully now that its break I will be able to see him more.

The weather has been really nice...and then really cold and then back to nice again. I mean to the extreme that one day we are all running back to the dorm to put on sandals and drop our coats off and the next day we wake up and realize its a pants day as we are running to class.... Its crazy! But I can't complain because the beautiful days have been just that; beautiful!

It has truly been a crazy busy time. Dana and I have seen first hand how God supplies needs and it has blown our minds away! Another thing that is just really really cool was brought up in my conversation with her just a few minutes ago. We were talking about how God has just brought blessing upon unexpected blessing and how cool it is and how its just blowing her away. Then she realized that she had driven 165 miles since she had last filled her car up and she still had 3/4 a tank left!!! At that point, she was only about 147 miles from Toledo, Ohio and she was saying how "God is just blowing me away." I commented that the wind (she has said it was really really windy out)must be in her favor...and how God very literally might be "blowing her away." it made us both laugh and still marvel at the awesome (awe-inspiring) God we serve and how great a pleasure it is to serve Him. This past week has really made Ephesians 3:20 really come to life for me..."exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think" Wow!

This spring break I decided to stay here and work the 10 hours this week. I have high hopes of finishing a few school projects, getting lots of reading done, doing my taxes and fafsa, hanging out with friends, and most importantly, growing closer to God. I would really like to get to Mason City and go see Tanya and Kris, Brit and Kyle, but im not sure that it will happen. I did just see Tanya and Brit last month and Kris was in the area the other night and I got to see him for all of 15 minutes so I can't really complain.

What are your goals for spring break? (or this week if you are not on break) How are you striving to grow to be more like Christ/what is one thing that God has been reminding you of?
