So this morning when Dylan asked me to make him an egg, I asked how he wanted it. And...if you have ever tried asking a 6 year old how he wants his egg cooked...well, its kinda hard to understand what he wants when there are SO many different ways to cook an egg. I asked him if he wanted it like yesterday and he said "no, I don't want it cut like that." So I was thinking ok, just like an egg patty. Easy enough. Then he was said something about wanting it to look like an egg. So I asked him if he wanted the kind that you had to peel the shell off after it was cooked and he said, "No way! throw the shell away, you can't eat it!" Sigh..so then I thought maybe over easy? that looks like the plastic toy food's version of an egg. Somehow eventually I figured out that he wanted a hard boiled egg.
Super. I HATE hard boiled eggs! So, naturally, I wouldn't know how to make them lol. I knew you had to boil it, but I wasn't sure how long so I text my mom. Not quite sure what I was thinking, but for some reason I thought you just had to bring it to a hard boil and then it was done. Mom didn't answer fast enough so I boild the egg and it was already cooling down before she told me it had to cook for like 15 minutes. Good to know lol.
When it was FINALLY done, I gave it to Dylan thinking he would like to take the shell off which he did. He wasn't sure how to do it, so I got him started and he worked and worked at it.

When he got it shelled(?) he ate it and said it was so good he wanted another one. The smell of it was grossing me out just a bit, but I agreed and made him another. Then Maddie got up and saw him finishing off his egg and was like, "oh you do know how to make the good kind? Can I please please please have one?!" So...I made another one.
Pretty sure I wont forget now..although, I sure hope I wont be making any more hard boiled eggs anytime soon..or maybe I will. => Hope it was as funny to read as it was for me to have lived it out! Happy 1st of July!!
Oh yah! Yesterday was Dylan's 6th birthday. I bought him a little RC car and he absolutly loves it. Of course, Payton and Maddie and Kendra and Corbon(the neighbor kids) like it too..and it has been the source of a few arguments. => He opened it up and played with it off and on almost all day!

Another thing both he and Maddie like are when I wrap them up really tight in this green blanket. It has a part on it with velcro and it keeps the blanket nice and snug so they REALLY have to work at getting out. Im not sure how many times I wrapped them up in it. Made me laugh =>

Dylan is gradually getting more comfortable with me I guess. Before when he would hurt himself, I would check to see if he was ok, but he would always yell at me to get away or even kick at me. Now he actually lets me talk to him and doesn't yell or kick at me. He has even come and sat in the same lazy boy chair with me to play on his brothers ipod so I could see. Or jumps onto my lap when Im on the couch just cuz its fun I guess. I was so used to working in a daycare where the kids often ran to me when they got hurt or would just like sitting on my lap or whatever that it was so strange coming to the Fays where he was totally not like that. But thats a good thing. Means hes attached to his mommy => Anyways, I have homework I need to get done so enough of my ramblings..mainly to myself so I dont' forget the little things. => Have a good holiday weekend, everyone!
